Securing Your Hedge

Securing your hedge to the floor, wall or stones

You will need:

-stone masonry drill bits (I am hoping the flagstones do not crack),

-a drill

– 2″ & 4″ screws (as a guide) and approx.

–  80cm x 2″ x 2″ batons.

How to attach

  • Securely and tightly screwing the batons to the stones, wall or floor
  • Place the hedge over the batons
  • Attached by using several 4″ screws screwed horizontally through the bottom of the troughs into the batons (1 x baton per hedge section).

It has also been recommended to screw all hedge pieces together through the foliage section (so that the screws cannot be seen).  By doing this you will add additional support to the hedge and you will create one large, heavy structure that will be secured to the ground.
